Everytime I say my dogs haven't trashed all year long half or more of them will go on a deer or elk race. So I have kept my mouth shut this year and so far so good.

Same here, never brag on em. I always talk about how trashy they are, seems to hurt there feelings. I was suprised, they stayed pretty clean all bear season, had one questionable race all year. So now watch what happens next time out

Not saying my hounds will never trash but if i turn out 1 or 5 they better stay free off of off game. If you run good clean older dogs your odds of off game go way down. If not thats what the tri tronics is for  later, Andy

I believe twist touched on the issue pretty well, if a guy just brings one pup in every year or two then he doesn't have any trouble......it's when you get to training a bunch of renegade pups on a race is when shit goes south!

ike

Well said the best way to train a dog to be trash free is to never have them run trash and when they are running with older dogs that know what they are doing then they will pick it up and usually never be intrested in running trash. If I am running with someone new with dogs that I have never run with I will not take my pups because all they need is one dog to teach them the wrong kind of game to run and it is a bitch to keep them srtaight after that.

HC, you got it right. Many a pup has been "corrupted" by an older dog running trash and it is many times verry difficult to get them straightened out.
