the wife and I went on a road trip the other day and thought I would take my 7 month walker pup. we had to delivering some sheep we sold. It was a wild goose chase to begin with we ended up taking a lama, turkies, and two goats. When we met the people that had the goats they pulled out a small 9 or 10 week old blue heeler puppy, that they were proud of. So I unloaded my pup to show her off, they both looked at here and in a scared voice they guy goes "thats one of those hunt 'n dogs! They are ferocious." Now I don't know how many people know about a blue heeler (I do like them) but if I had to choose between one to watch out for it would be the heeler over the hound. I got a kick out of it and thought how everybody remembers when a dog, horse, kid, ect. has a bad attitude but seem to forget all the good ones put there.

That just made me bust up laughing! I don't know how many cow dogs I have been bit by and I really do like cow dogs, especially ones that are used for what they are breed for, but I have yet to be bitten by a hunting dog of any breed and I a have owned more of them them than cow dogs. An yes blue or red heelers are #1 for biting, me at least, but the funny thing is other than one time being bitten on the hand, they were doing there job, I was bit in the heel.

We had a blue tick heeler mix and that sucker was the brave and pull all kinds of hair on bear. Bad part was he didnt last very long doing that. And the dogs i hate the most are chows that is the only type of dog that has tried to bite me, all they got was a size ten boot as they tried to bite.

I need a heeler like I need to be kicked in the face with a golf shoe.

Lol, I think the only time I am ever scared of my hounds is when we have to climb a tree... Dad and I always said we would rather the animal in the tree grab us then to fall in the mouths of 6 mad Plotts lol.
My dad always told a story of him chasing a young pup that was acting stupid... Him and the dog started falling on the slip rocks and with the pup screaming its bloody head off, the older dogs started thinking they needed to eat whatever it was... His old sky dog went to grab my dad in the face, my dad let the pup go and yelled "SKY!" as loud as he could, he said the biggest thing on that bluetic was his mouth, and then his eyes when he heard that it was dad instead of an animal.
Sky would attack if you showed him a needle or a hotshot... My dad had a tan carhart coat that the elbows had been ripped off by that dog. He bit the vets hand apart when he was 16 years old... Last needle he ever saw... RIP Sky Bird.
Him and my dad got in a fight one time... My dad heard a click over his shoulder, my mom was standing behind him with a .357, she told my dad to move, she was gonna kill him lol!
That was the only dog that could bite my dad and didn't get killed lol.
But yeah, people are iggnorant! We pulled up next to a sports car at the light, we was in the little green toyota, Plotts crammed in there so much we looked like crazy homeless dog people LOL! We had the windows down cuz it was hot and huntign trucks don't need AC lol. The guys looks at us and says "duck". Dad and I think the sky is fallign or some crap, so we asked him "what" he said, 'you hunt ducks?" Well, dad and I died a little inside, so we replied "No... People! We hunt people!' LOL.
After that we would tease my black Plott Socki... We would yell out the window at him "Socki! Get your head inside, you embaress us! People will think we hunt ducks with 10 dogs LOL!" That's what people say when they pick them up "I have your lab here" "I got your dog" or my favorite "I have your dog here, he is really pretty, what breed is he?"
People won't shoot someone's lab or pet, so until we get the dog back, we don't say they are a hound LOL!" It works.
