Got to witness something awesome

Our cows are starting to calf and I shine the field at night with my spot light to see if any are calving or have calved. Coyotes are hard on our calves and I like to get them to the barn as soon as I can. Anyways, The other night I walked outside hit the light and saw something dart into the briars. I turned the light to the briar patch and a rabbit darted out. Right behind it was the biggest bobcat I'd ever seen. He chased the rabbit all the way to the fence at our yard and caught it not 20 yards from the house. The rabbit made a slight squeal and that was it. He looked at me and carried his rabbit off to the woods. I kept watching him and he started climbing a huge oak tree with the rabbit and went almost to the top before he started eating it. I ran in and changed clothes and grabbed the camera (it's illegal to kill cats here at night) and took several pictures but, he was so high all I got was some eye flashes. I'll never forget it with or without pictures. We usually don't cats come down here but, there's plenty on the big mountains several miles away. I didn't know that bobcats would climb like that to eat it's catch either.
