I heard part of a speal on the radio this am. Seems like the treehuggers are all excited as to the recent appearance of wolves 200 miles west of Denver. Did anyone else hear this? If this is true, then some serious coyote calling is in order.

Idiot remark “wolves might not make peoples lives better” and that from a supposed knowledgeable Fish and Wildlife person. OH Of course, silly me, THEY want to control everything and not leave it to nature. There would not be an overpopulation of deer and elk if the natural balance of predators was left alone. So the correct statement would be “people might not make wolves lives better”. The on-going battle of man vs. nature.
And there you have it folks... the real reason for wolf reintroduction.
I was not aware that Colorado had an over population of deer and elk. I am aware that we have an overpopulation of people who have built houses in every nook and cranny in this state. The deer and elk have no choice but to eat shrubs, trees and gardens out of backyards.
I'll tell you what, let's let natures' predators take over...then we won't need guns anymore and the Gov't can take them away too. Hell within 20 yrs we will become just like another socialistic european country anyway. Why the hell did we bother to come all the way over here and start a new country in the first place?
Thanks for the link Dean.

The part that pisses me off is that they tried to hide it for so many years. The only thing that finally forced them to admit that there were wolves in Colorado was when ranchers started shooting them. The DOW would try to site them or prosecute them and the ranchers who shot the wolves would say "How could I have shot a wolf? You say there are no wolves here?" So they finally admitted it so they can protect the wolves, What a shame! Maybe we could come up with a plan to ship the cities of Boulder and Santa fe to another country and maybe we wouldn't get outvoted or out lobbied on these issues.

Damn I feel sorry for you guys! Glad we dont have them yet, although Im sure they are on there way and people have reported them several times and we have found tracks. Good thing about a reservation is we govern ourselves and make our own management rules....

No dude! You have to embrace the idea of having more stuff to shoot and if they're coming anyway why not see some optimism. Really I think bring wolves back over here in this part of the country makes about as much sense as trying to reintroduce bison onto the plains. Gone are those days.
Wolves are here. There has been documented sightings in Walden and just across into Wyoming. Now as Liontracker points out they've been sighted further into the state. Colorado has more ballets than probably any other state and the general public likes wolves a whole lot more than houndsmen. We all know what happens when wildlife issue hit the ballets. We lose... just look at what happened with bear hunting. I don't like the idea of wolves but it is an issue that no one will win. So I'm just saying, look at the bright side as grim as it is.

I have seen lone tracks up in the areas we all hunt, at least I assume you guys are hitting the same areas. They have been here for a while with out a doubt. I know there is a little pack around the Deadman area as well.

This picture was taken by my Dad near Lake George, CO. about 6 years ago. It was taken out of his back window at his cabin. About two years ago, a female wolf was killed on Interstate 70 about 30 miles west of Denver near Idaho Springs. It had a tracking collar on and was confirmed that it had traveled south from WY.

Oh but sconsider the BIODIVERSITY that wolves will bring to the are. Oh yes much like Yellowstone who's elk numbers have been diminished by then but take heart the pronghorn antelope herd appear to be rather heathly. So there you go BIODIVERSITY. MMMmm! sort of rolls of your tongue doesnt't it?
Bio, click,ca click bio diversity. hold your breath, and release slowly and squeeze+++perfect. Period

I really hope somehow you guys can find a way to get rid of them without getting linched!!! I live in the country that decided it would be a good idea to ship them down to you, its to bad they didnt just kill them up here instead of moving them!!!
If you see a wolf you have the chance to kill consider this........When im running roads lookin to cut lion tracks if I go 20 miles in good country and dont see a wolf track its a dam good day!.......Alot of times we spend from well before lite in the morning, till late afternoon, trying to run blocks to make sure there arent a pack of wolves near so we can turn loose......We run ALOT of trail cameras on elk and deer all year and are starting to see next too no calves/fawns...we dont get huge elk herds up here but to see 40 cows with 5 claves is not all that unusal anymore. I know guys that have been standing under a treed lion shooting at wolves that are circling the tree within a hundred yards! Thats how bad they want your dogs! You can use all the bells and tricks you want....if they hear your hounds in there turf and your to far away to help you and mostly your dogs are in BIG trouble. They'll move in and its game over, not maybe.....not probably....it is GAME OVER there ruthless!!!!
I just want others that haven't experienced them as much to understand the severity of the situation. Do anything you can to keep them out of the areas you hunt if you want to continue to enjoy them. Once they get populated like they are up here they change the game in a big way...and trying to kill them at that point is a whole other subject.....
Good luck to ya guys!!! S.S.S-IMO!!!
