got a question??
hey everyone. i was wondering if any of you have ever just used regular pigs to help train your dogs. also do you think if i did do that would help make my pup a good bear dog. thanks.

In my opinion a domestic hog could be used to help get a young dog firing good, but they are not a lot of help training a dog to fight a hog or in teaching them to trail.

i agree! I use domestic pigs to get my pups started with out getting hurt! I have learned that sometimes a pup gettin hurt is no good. Curs and some hounds tent to stop hunting if getting whipped to bad. So i start my pups at 3 months with a domestic pig about 10 or 15 lbs. Then go from that to a wild pig. As they grow, i use just a little bit bigger pig.
