How bout you explain why?! I have a OMC, doesnt bother him to tree squirrels (its spelled like this) during the day, then take him to the woods that night an tree 3 or 4 coons. So whats the big deal!? Can a dog not multitask???? Where is there a rule they are not supposed to do this?

During the depression folks had hide dogs and hunted squirrels through the day and coons at night,w/o a problem.Though if they treed a squirrel at night their fate might be in jeoprady. As long as they suit you, enjoy the music!

No where on there did I say its a ruleThat would be my own rule.Every houndsman has rules for what there dogs can and can't run.Good game and bad game. Some guys love to run yot'ies but to me and most the people i hunt with there trash. Its all a personal preference,I was stating mine.
I know my spelling is horible, is there a spell check on here???

My dogs are big game dogs, including my cur dogs. I have never had a dog think twice about a squirrel and am happy about that. But to me coon hunting is something to do to get my dogs out there more. Its like othere people said, if you want your dogs to do both there is no problem with it. you may end up with a treed squirrel if you do some morning coon hunts, but if you don't mind than go for it.

I understand what you boys are sayin! I dont mind my dog to do both jusy cause there at diff times. But if my hog dogs bumped a coyot, id be pissed. Most squirrels are out in the daytime hours, except the little ones with wings lol. My hog dogs are for that only, so i get your point radar

This dog doesn't seem to get confused. I don't have any trouble switching back and forth with her.
