Last Monday I went up the mountain to locate a cat track to fool with for the day. I hadn't been gone long when I got stuck. I drove up on this drift to test it when it grabbed me and high centered my truck. The more I dug the worse it got. I even think that the snow went below the grade of the road somehow. I was pretty wore out from shoveling the chassis out three times just to have the truck settle deeper each time. To my good fortune though I had a full signal on my cell. So I text my buddy and within a few minutes he got back to me and said he'd be right up to get me out. Because he was willing to do that I was able to spend the time on a nice bobcat track I found just a hundred yards up the road. We had a good pursuit but I had to pull off early to be back at the truck when my buddy showed up. He weaseled out of an important conference call by telling those guys his lion hunting friend was in trouble and needed help right away... they couldn't grasp the idea of a guy by himself, deep in the woods, in the dead of winter, looking for mountain lions... but they let him off with out much guff and he came and bailed me out. It is sure nice to have friends that are willing to drop what they are doing to come lend a hand.
