bueno dias, we r finally getting a little sunshine in s tx. hunting and trailing cond. has been good.a buddy came over thursday and we loaded the hounds at 4pm. i went to the home plase thinking i would find some drier country-----NOT. kicked the hounds out, and about5;20 we were missing 2 dogs. we stopped listened and they were running about .25 behind us.We got the others in the race which was fast and furious. 25 mins later they had hair in thier mouths. We went on and caught a tom that ran the best race i have heard in a long time.He ran 1.25 hours with 15 hounds after him.Before they caught him it was raining again. Feels good to be back in the groove since deer season has closed.Shout-out to CJC and mr.Clay I hope u have many more b-days to come.I look forward to seeing u guys in March. happy hunting mike. Mike it sounds like you fellows had a great hunt. To run one over an Hour in South TX is special. All the rain must have the vegetation really growing.

That is good news for the Bobcats…the Bad news is Meggie and Ranger are on the way and are excited about their new home!

As Dad told you, we were supposed to go to GA tomorrow to make a hunt with Tony and Mr. Hardaway, well the coming rain got the trip postponed till Tue. We will be hunting Tue night and Wed. morning.

The delay meant that I could take Dad here tonight. We found very poor scenting conditions. If a Track was not smoking hot the Hounds could not trail it. We did manage to find two Toms away from home out courting, but they were road runners and while we Treed one and put the other in a Brush pile, the Races were not easy to listen to. We struck several more that the Hounds just could not do anything with.

We look forward to seeing you all and hearing a good SO TX Race or two but please put all the Rattlesnakes in their Dens till we leave!
