Jason : Thanks for that link. Interesting Reading . I raise that point because a hound buddy from Maine gave me a call 2 days ago telling me he was helping his son , I think a 7th grade student do a research project for school up there . I guess he has a brother in Idaho and has first hand knowledge of what some of the hounds people are going through out there.. He was telling me while helping his son do the school report he was surprised how many PRO- Wolfers were out there in VT ,NH ,and ME. Probably the same Ilk and Hug-A- Treers 's that started the wolf introduction out west. VERY SAD  Sure hope it does Not happen up there ,Natural migration is bad enough. But purposely planting them would be a tragedy .Sure wish there were some way to send pictures of these killed hounds to the people that support this . I don't wish this to happen but it may take a human life or a couple pet fido's to wake up the public. :(

Jason : I can NOT come up with 1 GOOD LEGITIMATE reason why they should be brought back . I have been corresponding with some of these HUG-A-Tree types and the common response I get back is " THE BALANCE of NATURE " yet the same creeps are TOO afraid to get 100 yards off a woods road and continue to blame the lack of deer on hunters and hounders chasing deer in the heavy snows. All kinds of reasons but NONE to me are Legitimate.

the very first thing you have to do is rip apart the "balance of nature" it doesn't exist only cycles of rising populations & crashes. high population cycles for the plant eaters mean they strip everything & destroy large acreages which then results in miserable malnourished & diseased existence until it's so bad they starve out & crash. the predators follow the prey cycles growing as the they do and exploding during the prey's crash phase. once the prey crash hits and the predators clean out the all you can eat buffet of malnouished & dead, the vegetation recovers. when the vegetation recovers the few remaining prey animals can get all they need in a small area of lush growth. since they don't travel much the predators have to work harder to find them. since they are healthier the predators have a harder time actually making the kill. so then the predators start their malnourished & then starving crash. they suffer disease & starvation which are horrible ways to die.
people are the only predators that will change their kill rates to correspond to the prey popultions. more deer or elk & we kill more, less & we kill less. wolves lions & other lower predators will literally hunt themselves to starvation.

once you can get them to accept this truth, you can chip away at their anti position pretty easily. you may not turn them into hunters, but you can get them to accept that we are predators just like bears & wolves & hunting is a neccesary tool.

There was a 70lb coyote killed in Sullivan Co. N.Y., they say it was awful wolfy looking, they took hair and DNA samples from all coyotes killed in the contest, so time will tell if it had any Red Wolf in it.

Rem 700: I have seen 1 coyote that I thought might go a legitimate 50 lbs but 70 lbs is really getting up there. Can you tell us where it was shot at in Sullivan county? Not sure what Wolfy looking looks like . Did anyone take any Photo's ? Is the state of NY doing the DNA testing? Can you please keep us posted if and when the results come back?

Thanks
Bob Baldwin

Bob Baldwin , I have a great picture of a Maine coyote that I think defines "Wolfy Looking" real well. If someone that knows how to post pics here will send me their email address I will send it to them and they can post it.
