I am just wonderin ghow the yote number are stacking up for everyone. I have notice a definite incline for yotes this year almost 2 to 1 raio. I also noticed I have exactly 2 deer around our ranch where as 2 years ago there were approx. 30. also got a pack of 5 wolves that hang right with the yotes.

Up here in Maine while I will NOT say yote numbers have doubled ,I will say there is a definite increase in numbers. While the NIGHT hunting season is growing in popularity ,which to us is good it has not reduced growth yet. Not enough guys out there to put a dent into those POS yotes . Suffice to say our deer populations are really hurting up here.I do not blame the deer numbers totally on the yotes but they certainly have NOT helped the deer.Still a lot of MANGE up here how are you mid-west guys doing for numbers?

Here in Southern VT they definately seem to be growing in #'s. Been thinking about getting one of those fox pro's to cut down on them. I am a little confused at the statement that someone wants less deer. Feel free to send them our way. With the 3 1/2 feet of snow we just got and the yote's we'll be lucky to have any left by thaw.

Send some deer my way to. My wife and I live off deer and beef but this year my freezer is half empty. Our DNR here are plum worhtless. 2 years ago they opened it up so we could take 7 deer apeice. 1 horned, 5 management tags, 1 landowner permit. So every joe blow from the city thought that they should shoot that many. I lease out our ranch to hunters and told them strait up there was to not going to be not 5 or 6 deer apeice. they listened but every neighbor around let there hunters do what ever they wanted. Then the last two springs the yotes and bears have bee devistating on the fawns. I counted 9 does with 2 fawns last year this year 5 does and 1 fawn on our place. I normally count in the 30's for does and 20's for fawns. Now the last report the DNR says the deer count was way down like 25,000 less but not sure why.....OMG are they needing lessons in management.

Seen 4 yotes today but couldnt get he hounds out..... Wife said she was feelin nausish so took the little test and badda bing I am going to be a NEW daddy in 9 months (give or take a few days)

Keep posting on yotes... Love to here how the numbers are doing.

jimmy dont know what part of kansas you live but i deer hunted west kansas this year and i seen 6 in one day. here in west oregon there are to many. i think that is the biggest reason the deer numbers are so down. at night when the dogs start a cat you can here up to 3 diff familys barking at a time. sometimes they come in on the dogs barking at them. sucks with young dogs its hard for them not to run the yote.

jc, I am in the Norton area. We have a ranch and feedlot, this winter we have butchered several beeves and nothing has touched those gut piles. In years past they would have been gone the next day. We have relatives that work for the highway dept and they have commented that the places they dump their road kill deer are piling up as there is nothing cleaning them up. You hear them and see some tracks, but nothing like in the past. Jimmyd

Here in central VT the numbers seem to be down in the area's I usually run in so we broke out and found some new ground which seemed like the population there was a lot higher. But what do you expect when between 3 groups of hound hunters they kill from 150-200 coyotes a winter in the same area for 10 years.

Mostly Addison but I also hunt a lot in Bridport, Shoreham, Sudbury and Brandon. Where do you hunt? You hunt with hounds?
