I've not done much cat hunting, but I've seent alot that other people have trapped, shot and a few that we killed while rabbit hunting(i've got a beagle that would run a cat till it treed or he couldnt walk). The other day a pic of a local trapper showed him with a huge cat. Everyone said that it weighed in at 62lbs. I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of a bobcat that big.

This one was trapped on the Owahee (Nevada/Idaho border).
Don't know the actual weight, but it's a bruiser for sure.

Another Nevada Cat.

This one's from New Mexico.

And a monster from Texas.

To put things in perspective,, this Cat was trapped last year by a young friend of mine in Northern Nevada. It weighed a little over thirty five pounds.

I don't doubt that there have been 60-70 pounders taken, but they're definatly few and far between if they do indeed exist.

The biggest I've ever taken was 43 lbs. I've been at it a long time and it's a rare cat that breaks 40 lbs, the average mature tom around here might weigh in just over 30 lbs.
