I'm looking for some dry ground lion hounds, color doesn't matter.I need something with lots of nose. But they have to be able to move a track. Maybe someone has some or knows someone to get in touch with. Thanks

I have a bnt/blutick male i would part with but he has been on alot of bear also, so if you are hunting where there is bear this might be a problem. but he is very cold nosed I lion hunt here in nevada and he is a nice lion dog for dryground but i dont have any bear here.

Idaho,
I heard there is a guy up near Burley that has some House bred walkers that can really cold trail a lion but I can't recall his name. LOL!

Bet you are referring to Ken Jafik in Malta, ID. He has some real top notch Walker dry ground dogs. Malta is just south of Burley a little ways.

Judge Jerry I've known Mr. Jafek for years. I've even hunted with him, but In my opinion he's not a dry ground lion man, more of a fresh snow cut every road on Black Pine.

Ken is running some Walkers from Warner Glen isn't he? The guy that is running House Bred Walkers is from the Almo area. I need to run into this guy, I hear the dogs he has are something else.

Who said he is hard to find? There is a Coffee shop in Oakley Idaho just of the main road. You can find the guy there every morning until 10:00 A.M. At 10:01 he gathers is lion dogs and starts hunting. He told me it was to give the lions a head start. It has never worked that way for me, but he sure can tree those lions.
Maybe its Coffee???

I like this guy's style. why have cold nosed dogs if you got to be out there a 4 am waiting for the lion to make a track. LOL!

There has been some talk on here recently about the good ole southwest style dry ground dogs being the best out there.
I've heard a few names listed as having maintained that line of dogs, are there any better dogs out there now or are they the Chit?
Who are the best these days?
