I use something similar in the winter and they are perfect. I would just have panels along the side to keep it warmer when driving in winter weather. Mine is just 2x4 and plywood without the rear gate but they are the cats ass. If it is built well enough you can get your sled or atv up on top and your tire chains and shovel etc. are all out of sight below.
