New Mexico Bear and Cougar Harvest Reports

In New Mexico it is mandatory for all Elk and Deer hunters, as well as Trappers to file a harvest report.
For Lion and Bear hunters it is optional, and can be done online

Obviously if you harvested a Bear or Lion, and checked it in, G&F has record of the harvest. This report allows those of us who only pursued game to list the number of animals treed or bayed, and in what GMU.

So...my question is, do you think it is important that we all take a minute and report to G&F how many animals we caught? Could the numbers reported affect our harvest quotas? And how can reporting these numbers help us ensure the future of hound hunting (or pursuit) in NM?

I think it is an important statistic. It shows we dont kill everything we catch. I always write it in the comments when I get sent a survey

would it be possible to then have an over inflation of numbers due different people reporting that they are treeing the same bear over and over by different groups. Would this possibly skew the data? If so would that be bad?
