It sounds like an umbilical hernia. You need to get it fixed because they don’t fix themselves  . But I think it should be fine to wait until April. BUT I'm not vet, so I could be all wet!

If others agree that it is an umbilical hernia I would like to know if you think it is genetic or not. And should a dog be removed from a breeding program if it has the hernia :?:

sounds like an umbilical hernia-

belly button didnt heal right

vet can fix it -

it is not an emergency

you can try , just keep pushing it back in-
it will stay in longer as stomach muscles close -
it gets harder to push back ----this is when it could be a concern--

dont want it too tight and out
dont have lots of experience with this but the few ive seen were all cured by just pushing them back in every time i handled pup

ok i will make a oppointment for aril it dosent seem to be hurting the pup or slowing it down i will contact the breeder for genetic info and let you know if it is a genetic thing with the pups he raises

Its just an umbilical hernia. No big deal right now. Either the belly button didn't heal right, or momma pulled just a tad hard. I had a pup with one. I pushed it in every time I touched that dog, and then one day it was gone. The dog is 10 months now, and it hasn't been back. The muscles healed over it. I wouldn't waste time and money with the vet at this point unless it will not go back in when you push it. As long as it will go back in, just keep pushing on it, it will heal.
