I have a Walker dog that has almost quit barking, he just barely gets a sound out and it sounds like he is really horse.
Has anyone had this happen before or know and remedies?
It started after I hunted him in the rain 1 night.

I gave him penicillin and have been putting honey in his food but it's not better yet.

i've had some tree dog types get hoarse after treeing for most of a day but they sure get their voice back quicker then i'd expect. the rest don't tree that much and usually slow down after a while. but never seen a cold cause it

It's been almost 2 weeks now and no improvement.

First of all you should try posting this under the forum for helth and medical issues, you might get more answers there.But if i was you I would take him to a vet,sounds like a crushed or an infection in the voice box.

That's my next option Vet $$$$$

what type of collars do you use on him? have you looked in his throat any other symptoms or anything?

with coon hound parralisis they loose there voice . is he still getting around ok?

Had a hound get a puncture wound in throat from a bear once lost his voice and I could hardly find hole. But the penicilan cleared his up. check around collar area if you havn't allready. good luck.

I checked around his neck outside and as far as I can see inside and haven't found anything yet.

He hasn't gotten any better yet either.
