Does anyone know if the bears are moving, at the book cliffs or lasals,we are heading that way on May 15 for a summer persuit hunt. I heard ther is still alot of snow there,around Montecello,If anyone could give me any kind of information on this it would be very helpful.

Have a friend who went up last weekend, said he found a bear outside of La Sal. Hopefully it all gets melted off by the 27th

Did you draw a pursuit tag for lasals? I think lasals and sanjuan you gotta draw a pusuit tag. I don't know about book cliffs. I'm probably telling you a bunch of stuff you already know.good luck to ya!

I thought the pursuit tags were for the Summer season only? My understanding was you could still hunt those units in the spring without the draw only tag?

Yes pursuit permits are only for the summer seasons.

You can buy an over the counter persuit tag for spring and fall, for the lasals san juan,and book cliffs, I have the proclomation book for 2010, and I also called and double checked. I heard you might have to have a snowmobile to get on to the blue mountain were i hunted last year Hopfully the snow is gone by then. The summer persuit is the one they are going to do all the regulating on, its in july? Thanks for the updates.

Yes you can, however I believe the fall season is closed unless you have a kill tag, at least for the Books... You might want to double check.....

Does anyone know where to hunt at the book cliffs ,to start rigging for bear, or where the feed is maybe a road number or something? Or any other kind of info that would help an old bear hunter get good race goin. Any info would be greatly appriciated .

Rathole, Hay Canyon, Moon ridge, East Canyon, Main canyon, the divide......Just look for the dust clouds and try not to get ran over
