If u and your family have done it for four generations then to me its your right every body wants to keep anybody from doing anything, things my grandfather taught me nobody can keep me from doing thats my 1 cent.

Hey man, if that's your sport, keep on keepin on!!! My grandpa taught me to hunt with hounds, and it would make me sick to have to change my ways!! You have my vote as long as you always show good hunting ethics!!

I wish we could have visited a few years ago. I had a dog that would rather run deerthan anything else on earth, and never tire. I couldn't take it anymore, so I sent him packing. If you ever give in to the anti's of any form, you will never get back a stitch of what you lost.

Hey Man,
If that's your sport then keep on going. I really do not know a lot about deer hounds except I have heard that they do not run a deer like our hounds run a cat. I was lead to believe that will trail up a deer and keep it moving rather than just try to run it down. Is that right or was I told wrong?
At any rate welcome NewGuy....

I have heard of deer dogs. Back in the 70's I hunted in N.CA. with my grandfather and uncle and my uncle had a deer dog. You could send it in the brush under a rim rock and he would run deer out and bay them up. We would shoot them when the buck stood his ground. I thought that was a good way to hunt deer. They would also trail a blood track.
