Is anyone familiar with the book Born Under A Stump -The Life And Legend Of Big Bill Hulet by Russ Hulet? I just recently bought the book and have begun reading it. So far it's pretty interesting and I was happy to find a hound book pertaining to the Pacific Northwest. I have read about Bill Hulet before in Ralph Flowers book The Education Of A Bear Hunter but this book has more information in it and some good hound stories. Bill hunted for the timber companies in Washington back in the 50's and on up. So far I've only read part of the book but it's pretty interesting. I am liking it and think that it is surely worth buying.

I found my copy on Amazon.com. After having finished the book I would recommend it. Much of the book is about the life of Bill Hulet, who claimed to have killed over 3500 bear during his lifetime. There is plenty of bear hunting involved. And anyone interested in coast bear hunting will enjoy the book.
