Bayed this bear up yesterday. It was a walking fight for about five hours before I could get in and get of a shot. About a hour and a half later I was able to get in and finesh him. I was hoping to get some good bay pics when I walked in the second time but when I was about 30' away the brush started crashing and the dogs shut up. Then my dads tux dog started yelping and screaming. I ran in and could see the bear raising up and stomping down with his front feet, then he started biteing at something on the ground under his feet. I thought Tux was a goner for sure. The bear turned and I shot, dropping him in his tracks. I ran in closer and saw that the bear had trapped tux under some buck brush and was busy biteing the brush while Tux was trapped underneath. Lol Tux thought he was a goner for sure.

Started him with four dogs, my dads female got tore up in the first two hours. Not enough to keep her out of the race but she wasnt putting any pressure on him so we pulled her off. She got tore up pretty good on the last bear of the year in 09. (one of two dogs on that bear too). Not sure what she is gunna do this summer, time will tell and the other dog my partner just bought from Washington and he could hardly stand when I went in and made my first shot. Ended up having to pack him out on the Four wheeler.

Pic of Tux and Chewy with a bear they caught fall of 09. Just the two of them start to finesh. This bear went 330 on the fish and games scales. One of the local fish and game officers shot this bear.

Always glad to have you Elkhead.
