works great coons feed on roads with all the creepy crawlies crossing because the roads are wet , light rain or drizzle is best .

light rain or drizzle is best as opposed to a downpour . ive found coons feed heavy worms and other small coon delights are out when it rains . find the food and you find the coon . you get hot races during the rain cause the cold tracks so to speak are washed away . ever smelled a wet dog ?

a good coondog will tell you all you need to know for your area by just taking him on those rainy nights . dress comfortable with the proper gear and you will have a good time . a good coondog dont care if its raining.

Kordog is right. I have had the best nights with a light rain. Bugs anf worms are out more, and it seems like I strike more when it is a little wet out. Tracking ability seems to be better as well... Just what I have seen out of my dogs and I live in NW Oregon I dont have much choice

but to hunt in the rain.

here in mo. we have humid weather and it seems that type of weather is hard hunting so I'll start going more in that slow shower rain.

It really doesn't matter about the weather critters has to eat, A good moist ground will hold scent better, than drought dry ground, a heavy rain will wash the scent away faster, & will cause them coons to look for shelter to, after the down pours they will stir. To me the only thing that affects coon hunting is a bright night(full moon), a lying coon dawg, and a woman with a list of honeydoos!
