Spent 10 days muleback hunting bear. Last bear I killed was in 89. Did not see one other houndsmen in 10 days. 9th and 10th day I hunted alone, bayed up a Moose and caught three bear. Nailed a really nice boar, dogs fought him hard it was a walking battle. Skinned him out loaded him on my Sassy mule cracked open a pint and started home. Riding down the creek came face to face with a medium sized chocolate bear dogs treed him. I had a great time in some of the roughest country God put together. I paid attention to things I had never noticed before, seeing as last year I could not walk 50 feet, thought my hunting days were over.

Good on You MuleHound. I know sometimes things happen that make us not take so much for granted. Nothing like spending some time in the great outdoors

sounds like a real fun time to me. . . Todays houndsmen have no idea how a hunt like that would be. Many would quit without GPS and ATVs!

It sure doesn't surprise me you didn't see anyone else. That stuff you call your backyard is some remote and rough country. Does Web still go with you anymore? I'd say if it's been 20 years since your last bear, you are due for a good one..

Mulehound- great story, I hope to hunt like that someday as i just brought my first mule. I also hope you get the pics up to. Hey be careful dont get a MRI ticket.
