Good thing I live in the Chilcotin as spring is a busy time, with to much to do and bear season in full swing as well. I still got out every evening this weekend and had some good luck and even treed afew.

The mutts had to work to start this one, but Burger got it started and was 1/2 mile out by the others figured it out. Treed solid at about a mile just as the backup arrived.

The dogs blew up and even though it was getting on in the evening, like a crack junky i needed one more fix. This time it worked out for the good. A fast cur style race, back down the road a few hundred yards, down the mountain a ways , a quick jump and two hundred yards later a solid tree. I should have bought a lotto ticket that day.

Older sow that ran hard, crossed on a ridge in front of my boy and I and treed shortly after.

Older sow, who did not want to stay up. She finally jumped on the fourth attempt and made it to a big fir tree where she settled in.

Rigging all the bears, as baiting is illegal in BC. Baiting would help in chasing the big boars only but you take what you get out here as you rarely find a track to put down on. You better have trash broke hounds as well.

nice, I didn't know where you were hunting. must be some dandy hounds, keep the pics coming. If you ever want to redefine the word rarely come down where I hunt. about 5 bears on the entire range. 200 miles. oh well makes me appreciate when I catch one or when a feller like you catches 50 or so. thanks for sharin.
