so whats the rules on running in another state? washington sucks and if i found a friend in another state could i go run with them with out having to go through months of papers? or hard work? just want to go get my pup running?

Look up the rules for the state and species you want to hunt.

Idaho, you need a hound hunter permit
Oregon, can't run lions or bears
California, just need a license and tag
Nevada, just need a license and lion tag, non-res can't hunt bobbers
Utah, just need a lic to pursue, bear is draw only, lion is OTC and draw, depending on unit
Montana, no dogs for bears, not sure about the license information for lions
Wyoming, just need a license for lions, can't run bears

for idaho whats a hound hunter permit?

You have to draw out in idaho for a hound handlers permit if not you cant take any dogs.

I think utah you just buy a pursuit permit. you'll have to look it up on the utah dwr homepage. welcome to come out here anytime. we chase lion, bobcat, bear and coon.

update, 30 dollars over the counter gets you a bear or cougar pursuit here in utah.
