Hey Everyone, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself,
My names Carl and I live in northern california, I am new to the game and still waiting to find the right hound, and not in such a rush to do so. This forum has been a fantastic help at directing me in the right directions, what to look for, with plenty of interesting and inspiring topics and debates mixed in.
I'm looking forward to learning more and more and showing off my dogs and accomplishments when I get there (if I get there).

Cheers! :beer

Oh and I'm a total photo geek, I'm almost looking more forward to doing lots of training time in the woods with a camera and long lens then a gun. For me it's really about a love for the dogs. :beer

Hey Dale, I'm in Mt Shasta, I've only been up here a short while, I just recently relocated from San Francisco. The big city life was taking it's toll and the changes have been fantastic.

Thanks Plott Proud, I'm hoping to be able to keep adding more, looking forward to some hound and action shots.

wow, such beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing! Im from up here in washington near shelton and have been running hounds for 13 years. I have a walker/blue tick male cross, and my house dog is a walker/black lab cross that loves them coons. Good luck with your quest on finding that hound dog.

thanks for the kind words elkhuntress,
I am in the process searching for the right pup. I'm a huge fan of blue dogs, and I hear they're slower like me.

It's been a hell of a time finding one out here though, I'm looking for a promising pup to start working with but have had no luck. I've decided that if I lived anywhere in the south I could of had my pick by now.

I'm waiting about a year to pick out one of Steve Phipps' cameron dogs from crazy cascade, but I'm trying to find a blue pup to start working this summer, it hasn't been so easy.

Have you tried to get in touch with some local hound clubs near you? Or even southern oregon? They would prob know some people with pups for ya?
Ive found that blue dogs tend to be slower as well, its nice for a chick like me thats short and has a bum hip from a horse riding accident to keep up with them blues LOL, make sure and post a pic when ever you do find that pup-I would love to see it!

I am working on it, I think I've found my pup though, I'll know more in the next week.
I don't have any excuses for being slow, besides an appreciation of the scenery.

But I'll keep everyone posted.
