Western North Dakota does have limited opportunities for lion as does eastern Montana. Most of the lion activity is noted in the badlands border country along the Little and Big Missouri Rivers. Lions have been noted in areas further east but not in huntable concentrations. A good deal of this country is private land and permission will be reguired to gain access. Bobcats can be found in nearly every part of the state but here again gaining access to large eough blocks of land to hunt them could be problematic. To my knowledge there is no bear season in North Dakota and Wyoming and Montana do not allow bear hunting with hounds.
