ok so im getting a finished walker should i hunt with him a couple of times first to make sure she can do it alone thanks

Sounds like you already made up your mind. A FINISHED cood dog is worth well over a thousand dollars sometimes several thousand. I would strongly recomend getting multiple trial hunts. IF the dog is truly finished the owner wont have a problem showing it in the field. I thought you were getting a cur pup.

I wouldn't let any money change hands until I had hunted with the dog a couple of times. Make sure he is by himself. A good dog can make all the other dogs with him look good. Take him alone, if he finds and trees Mr. coon, then you know it was him and he wasn't following another dog.
I've seen dogs that would tree coons with company, but wouldn't get out of sight by themselves.

I agree if he wasn't hunted alone, he didn't do it.

Just like thes guys have already said, a finished hound is worth a pretty penny and you should trial him before making any deals.
