I just got some pups. I'm already running them this way. Without a pole that is. If they don't mind well use a shock collar or I use news paper on my leg. Working great with mine

Careful U., that's illegal here in OR right now. No "training" dogs during bird mating season which basically means till 9/1 according to ODFW. I'm not preaching to you, I do it. I just want to make you aware of "the law", goofy as it is.
BTW, good looking hounds you got.

But yea, to build endurance, road 'em ;)

I'm running them only in the fields. Checking fences no different than our cow dogs. But I am aware thanks. Nesting season ends at the end of July from my understanding.

Nesting season ended last sunday. I have been taking my dogs to the river and holding them out with a check cord and making them swim. Usualy do it for about 15 min and give them a couple min. off while I work the next one. Then do them all over again. Remember you could always coyote hunt, that will run the legs right off of them.
