I know the feeling had a 4000 dollar vet bill on my lead dog a couple years back the vet called and said come get him I drove 2 hours down there and he died while I was in route then they wanted to do a autopsy to find out why on my f$$king bill I had to tell them I could not afford to kick a dead dog

In the end think of all the time and effort put into these dogs, the sense of accomplishment when they do what we need them to and how they fit into your household. Then it becomes a little easier to pay for them.

Shoot my wife costs more than that and if you add the kids in. I think I'd be better off with the dogs and not the rest, however they bring me some enjoyment too!
Re: Priceless
I had a deaf hound one time he was hell to handle with out a collar and then he only learned to try and find you but was one hell of a trail dog. anyway one day i hook onto the stock trailer in a hurry during calving and take off. here the damndest howl i've ever heard. the odd thing is he didn't ever really bark normal or normally. he was sleeping between the tires. went right over him. took him to the vet and they checked him out and he was bruised and sore but nothing ruptured they still felt the need to bill heavy on that one. it was all my fault I chain the dogs to the trailers all the time.
