Just curious how well it works and how rough of country you can do it in. Around here most spots you can ride a 4 wheeler is anything but smooth, rocks, roots, dips, holes, you name it thats the trails. Can and does get a bit bumpy.

we do it all the time, some rough country some that isnt, i use a half of a dog crate for the dogs, alot guys build racks, i snap the dogs onto a lead long enough for them to stand on the ground case the get out that way the dont hang them selves

I use the four wheeler whenever I can. Its much better for hunting because you can watch the dogs closer and go places the truck can't. I ended up mounting a metal dog cage, the ones you can get at a pet store, on the rack. That way they don't fall off with all the bumps. It is more dangerous than the truck so drive careful. Biggest setback is being exposed to everything, hot cold dust wet blackberry vines tree branches bugs. I have dumped it a few times but man nor dog has gotten hurt as of yet. I try to go slow when i need to.

Thanks guys much appreciated. I did get a petmate with tie down holes a couple weeks ago. Works pretty good, very secure. Took pup out once and it just seemed really rough for her. My used (98) worn yamaha grizzly 600 doesn't do real well slow. Guess we'll just keep trying it, and we will either get use to it or she'll run whenever she see's the thing. We tried it the other day and she didn't like it but everytime we stopped and came back to it from our walk she went right back to it, tail tucked but waited to be put back in crate.

Just keep trying she will get use to it soon enough...just like anything else new you introduce a dog to.

We use 55 gal plastics barrels. They keep the dog lower so the front wheels stay on the ground, protects them from the elements, and you can force your way under anything the handle bars clear.

Thanks again guys!!! I do believe ride should be a bit smoother now that I Have relized I am a moron and had my tires to full. Sidewall says max 36psi I went with 30, but today I asked up at keene motorsports and was told between 5-10psi. Set the back at 10 and front at 6, and it seems so much smoother.
