Wow, that really is a pretty impressive training method, getting puppies to pull on a dangling bear foot. Whats the secret to getting them interested in that thing(cept for the one taking a nap against the fence) do you smear jelly donuts all over it or something? Did ya use the older finished dog to show em what they are spose to do here? I just gotta know if thats how you get em treein at 15wks, or is that treeing? Is it usually pretty hard to get em to take to that method pretty quick?

its been more like 7 months. all i can say is results speak louder than words. it doesnt take experence to have a great pack, it just takes money. i was told when i first started i would be lucky to tree a bear this year, well i kind of blew that theory slap out of the water. do i sence a little jealousy out of you, larry?

Man ferjerker! this PM speaks volumes! Good on ya! Jealousy? Ummm....no! You haven't done anything that any person with a checkbook can't do. Damn! you are awesome!!! What's it like to wake up in the morning and piss excellence?

its pretty nice larry, although it isnt quite the same, after doing it for so many years the new has wore off. maybe one day you will be good enough to do it, but i doubt it.

Do what? Claim the results of someone elses hard work and commitment as my own and then brag about how much better I am than anybody else in the country I hunt? Nah, yer doin just fine for the both of us.

last i checked larry, i bought the dogs, i am the one working these dogs everyday, i am the one feeding these dogs, i am the one hunting these dogs, i am the one that is locating the dogs when treed, i am the one going to the tree with these dogs, i am the one bringing these dogs back to the truck, so i would say that these results were from my effort. not anybody elses. i am pretty sure i am not the only person on here that has bought there lead dog from somebody that had already trained it. and like i said before, i bought jethro from idaho as a started dog, not as a bear dog like he is now. i played a major role in the developement of that dog.

dont let your alligator mouth over ride your humingbird azz!

ferjerker, I raised my pups from the ground up and I have to say you don't even have the slightest clue what this sport is all about. I am the guy that sells the started dog to guys like you and then set back and listen to you brag. you won't last long in hounds. seen guys like you come and go for years. sorry for being a dick, but you are seven months green at this, you bought your dogs trained, and now you try to talk the talk like your the master houndsman. my advise, keep you mouth shut until you pay your dues. I'm glad that you are having success and I'm not posting this out of jealousy or to start a pissing match. but until you make finished dogs from the ground up, and start your own breed, you probably shouldn't be preachin to guys that have. good luck and good lookin dogs later, jared.

You guys are aholes. Let the guy enjoy his new hobby. Just cause he did it right and started out with dogs that can actually catch something. He managed to cut 4 years of trying to run down deer chasers. I suffered through trying to train pups from scratch but made serious progress after I bought a couple decent dogs. Made a world of difference for me. If I was to start all over again I would do what Ferjerker did. :D Go get em Ferjerker-don't let these guys slow ya down. We need all the hunters when can get.
