I live in S.Ore. and hunt for bear & lion. I run walkers and plotts. My 2 sons also hunt with me. When we are not hunting we are fishing.

I assume by your statement as to what you hunt you have a permit with ODFW. Other wise you have to travel a lot to get any hunting in. Dewey

I hunt a tribal reservation. ODFW does not apply. I have federal hunting rights. Thanks for your concern.

That is a good thing to have. I envy you. Good luck hunting and enjoy those kids. How does it work to hunt off the reservation ? Can you do it with the same as the rest of us? Dewey

I hunt with some friends in CA for bear and NV for lion also. I will run out of lion country when the deer & elk move to far south off my boundaries, usally in Feb/mar. This year the snow was good and I hunted till april. With an ODFW lic I can hunt bobcat but I stay with big cats. I want my dogs to stick with a lion track and not pull off on a hot bob. Sometimes they catch a bobcat. They seem to like a lion better.

Welcome to the site and by the looks i would say your not new to the game. I think its awesome what some people get to do with the rights they have. live it up for all of us wannabes and post some pics of them big ol thunder cats from time to time. I never get tired of lookin at these pics on here and they will be all the more sweet to look at just knowing they are from oregon :D . Good luck this winter! Hey just out of curiousity how big do these cats get these days on a average? and what line of walkers do you run? Dont mean to be nosey he is just a good lookin dog, and with the lions........... well nobody ever kills one so i never hear how big they get before they die of old age lol. Take care

My walker came from Idaho about 5 years ago. He is from a dog called "boogie man" . I do not know much about the bloodline. My plotts are out of CA from Ike Garza, (cascade). I just got 2 blue pups out of Bucky Stones dogs from CA. I have a 2 yo walker female I got from John Snow in Eagle Piont OR last fall that is doing real good. I do not know much about bloodlines. I know if the dog has a natural ability to hunt I can make a good dog with it. I hunted dogs back in the late 80's and early 90's. After 94 I lost interest. In 1999 I started again. Went through a few dogs since then. Running bear right now. Can't wait for the snow.

that is one good lookin kitty! You ever try to get those dogs to work off a scrape in the dirt around here? or off a kill? I have caught a few bobs on the dirt but, not many and it is usually after a rain when everything is still pretty fresh and not just dust. If you ever get the itch to chase a bob and are up around the lapine area then send me a pm and wel get after em. Im doubting that you want to leave your honey hole though and i dont blame ya one damn bit. I wouldnt either. keep us posted would ya. I have always thought a guy could have huge success on lion around here with the numbers we have and make some darn good dogs while gettin after it. Take care and good luck.

Now that's a huge dam bear? Where y'all get him at? Wow, that's what I'm talking about, that bear must be like at lease 12-15 years of age. Congrad on the bear, also gotta love your dogs? They look fine. Good luck on y'all hunt.
