I was just wondering if you have owned, or hunted with a trackdown hound? I have heard some great things and I am just curious about the blood line. Love to hear about their tracking ability. Kind of wondering about their size and if you have a pedigree of one of them I would love to look at it.
thanks
Mike

I have only hunted with one and he was awesome. He was a big dog with huge feet, but he ran up front and I never new him to get sore feet. I kept him at my house and used him like my own for a couple of seasons. He had a really, really good nose, good speed, excellent tree dog, plenty of grit, but not too much, he could be hunted everyday, super rig and trail dog, He was one of the straightest dogs I have ever seen. This has been my only experience with one of them and like i said he was an awesome bear dog. He was the reason I started hunting with black dogs. He died from complicatiions due to a broken back and hips after he fell off a waterfall. He lingered for another year after and struck us some tracks but he was pretty handicapped.

i have a ten year old female down here with trackdown zip in the pedigree. she's the dog of a life time. been on over a hundred bear kills. awesome all aroumd dog. she is also a large dog and in her prime ran up front. now she's slowing down but you won't walk her across a bear that if she strikes that aint gonna get jumped. also an outstanding puppy trainer.
