WV EARLY SEASON
Posted: Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:52 pm
Day - 1 - ran a nice bear all day only to find it crossing the main road and we had to pull all the dogs off it
Day 2 - killed a 200 lb bear , ran another that crossed the highwall by way of a fallen down tree and dogs had no where to climb over
Day 3 - sow and 2 cubs - good training day but they all had to live
Day 4 - poured down the rain - rested up the dogs
Day 5 - killed 150 lb boar , rigged and ran another track but seen it cross the road and it was a cub, pulled dogs off it
Day 6 - ran one early and the dogs finished the track by themselves , ran another one but headed toward some lease property and had to pull dogs off
All in all it was a great week, saw a total of 8 bear, took 3, and found a lot of sign, hopefully they will stay in there for December.
As soon as get some pics uploaded I will get them on here. My boy took a few cracks and the first bear but he only parted it's hair a couple times, he done good though for 4 years old. He will have plenty of time to kill a bear.
