Sometimes the GPS will lose contact with a coller , then not regain contact even when the dog gets back to me. Its happened to differant collers. Could I be doing somthing wrong, or is there some way to regain contact? I run 2 GPSs so my uncle can watch the hunt on one from the truck. I wish I could project the GPS map onto a bigger screen for him.

i read something somewhere about something like that and i think it needs reset. and how you do that i cant remember.

To reset the collar you need to uplug the battery for about 20 minutes.

I would also look and see which signal the collar is losing

there are two signals the VHF signal which is the link between the 220 handheld and the collar.

And the other is the GPS signal which is with the collar and the Satelites.

Then somthing else to consider.. You have the 220 Handheld GPS signal and the satelites. (which would cause "?" on all the dogs at the same time.. )

How do you know which signal is lost?

Dont know if you got your ? answered but if not then heres how you can find out what signal is being lost.

1. Press the dog button on your reciever (This will bring you to the Compass Screen)
2. Highlight the dog you lost signal on
3. Press the ENT button (This will bring up the Dog Info Screen)
4. On the bottom of the Dog Info Screen It will Show you a Battery Icon with battery Strength,Comm. (VHF)with Signal Strength and GPS with Signal strength.
5. By looking at the Signal Strength of both the Comm. (VHF) and GPS you can tell what Signal is being lost.

Ive had instances where the VHF antenna broke inside its sheath so you couldnt tell just by looking at it. It caused me all kinds of headaches trying to figure out why I kept losing Comm. (VHF) signal intermittently. I eventually found what the problem was and now check my antenna's regularly just to make sure.
