Took my pup hunting with the older dogs on saturday(6 days ago). They ran hard all day and when they come out my pup was limping, carring his left rear leg. I gave it a quick lookover and put him in the box. When I got him home he was acting down and wore out, but I thought it was because he was young and hadnt been ran much. He laid around the dog house for about a day and didnt hardly move(which is real unusual for this pup). By monday he was acting fine. So last night I took him to a coon training lot for about a hour. He acted fine when I cut him loose, but by the time I got him back home he was carrying his leg again. Today he wasnt really carrying it, but he wasnt putting much weight on it either. I got to looking at it and its swelled up pretty good from I guess its his elbow, on up to his hip. It feels like it has alot of fluid around it. Surely I didnt pass it up when I looked at him before, but I never noticed it until today. Thought it might have been a snake bit, but I cant find any marks. He dont have nothing in his foot. It dont seem to be broke either, or he doesnt act like its broke anyways. Any Input? It will probably be monday before a vet is back in office around here.
