How y'all doin? My name is Zach I'm 18 and new to hound huntin. I started goin with my friend about 2 years ago, and I've been hooked ever since and I plan on doin it for as long as I can. I have a 1.5 year old walker i got from a friend. She had been on bear and I've had her on cat. HAVENT treed anything and would like some ideas on why she hasn't treed. Thanks

I like letting my older hounds teach my younger ones, My friend has a dog and she ran a bear all by herself, chasing it 100 mph, bear didn't tree though, last Sunday we ran a bear with 8 hounds behing it and it actually treed within 3/4 of a mile. Of course 8 hounds are a little louder and more intimidating then just one. If you have some to run her with, do it as much as possible, if they have good hounds that is!!

i guess i should ask has your hound ever been presented with a chance to tree? if the hound has been to the tree and then failed to tree it may need some encouragement. good tree dogs can usually encourage a new hound to start looking up and treeing.
