Been meaning to post this of our Candian hunt this year. Here is the short version:

We'll I finally got out of the heat & headed north. Met up with Mark & Andy Becker & their friend Lee Nelson.
We had a good hunt harvesting four bear.
The first bear, Trapper(10 yrs. old led the way & jumped the bear in a 1/4 mile. He bayed for about 10 minutes & then broke & ran some circles & then bayed again. We were on our way to him & he broke & ran a hundred yards or so & treed. Lee Nelson was going to shoot him with a bow but when he got to the tree had lost his arrows.lol He borrowed Marks 45-70 & soon had his first bear killed.
The second bear was the shortest bear race I have ever been on. The dogs coldtrailed 1/4 mile jumped, bayed on the ground for about 10 minutes & went up a tree 10 or 12 feet. He broke over half his claws climbing. I had to borrow Marks 45-70 as I lost my 30-30 bullets on the way to the tree. Something about hurrying to a abayed up bear.lol We did not get to weigh him so ya'll make some estimates. He had a good 4 &1/2 inches of fat on him & Mark & Lee estimated that he had a 170# of fat in the tarp. (just fat that was cut off)
The third bear was run by young dogs & they really did a good job so Mark put him down to the dogs. Mark & Andys females Hooker & Taz led the way for them. It was about a 125# boar.
The last tree had two bears in it & we had a roaring race with about nine dogs on them. We thought the bigger one of the two was a boar but it turned out to be a 225# sow. Andy harvested her.

Way to go those are some good looking bears. Looks like you had a good time! The dog with the red collar in the pic second from the bottom looks just like my Ringo dog I got from you. Hope all is well.

thats a marlin 1895gs guide gun 45-70, that is the same gun i carry to the tree. its small packs a huge punch, i love mine, accurate as hell also. :beer actually looking at it closer it looks like a 1895xlr, a longer barreled version of the guide gun, the guide gun only has a 18.5" barrel, i had one of those but perfer the shorter one.

Jeff,
That dog with the red collar should look like your dog as she is a 1/2 sister to your male out off the Trapper dog. The dog with just his head showing with the green collar as well as one of those buckskins would be full littermates to your dog. They are doing very well. Also one in Ga. that has been on bear since he was 7 months & one has been killed by a hog when he was 10 months in Ok. A pretty high percentage cross.
This hunt was made in Ontario.
