Battery life of Johnson collars
Run hard,tree hard,or go home.
Re: Battery life of Johnson collars
If your talking about the sealed batteries you can get a 4000 (I believe) an 8000 and 16000 hour collar. I don't have a clue other than size on the smallest collar how to tell the difference in an 8000 and 16000. I've never saw an 8000 hour collar as far as I know of. I have a friend that had a collar someone threw in a lake and he got a beep on it for 2 years before it quit. That's a pretty good shelf life.

Keep in mind that if you are running a tree switch in your collars that it could influence how long your batteries last. Every time the tree switch is activated, your collar is sending twice as many beeps out.
If you have dogs that you can call treed when they are with in hearing, then the tree switches may be over rated. I can't think of a time in the last few years that I have had to rely on my tree switches to call the dogs treed, so have been buying collars without them.
I want my batteries to last as long as possible, and I don't want that "one more thing" that could go wrong.
Just some thoughts on Battery Life.
