Caught this big old boy yesterday afternoon after a long day of cold trailing. Dogs did awesome for the first run of the year. Lots of elk and tracked up country. Super nice old tom...just what we want to take!

we haven't had quite as much snow as you guys have gotten, just little skiffs at night here and there. The track was 2 days old, just trackin dimples until the track got clean

Yep, apparently if your not one of the dry-ground elite, you won't get any credit around here. Where did he say it was a fresh snow ? Obviously if the country was all tracked up, it wasn't that fresh. Dogs cold-trailed all day .. sounds like a damn good job to me. I'm sure a dry ground dog would've had in treed in 30 minutes.

Congrats on a nice lion.

Hey Jason, been a long time. Congrats on the lion. So is Jack still around? Are you still hunting with him and does he still have hounds?

nice cat, I can not wait to get out and chase some kitty. It seems like a lot of guys like to steel others post just to brag there dogs up, how can you put a guy down for running in snow when thats the card he is delt. is he supposed to move just so he can run dry ground? I don't think theese dry ground guys understand that we dont have it that easy, what about when it well below freezing in the negatives, does that make it esier, anyway nice cat and great job

Didnt mean the question to be degrading at all. Sorry if i assumed it was fresh snow. I love snow as much as the next guy we just dont get much of it. Congrats on the catch im sure your dogs did great i know how tough it can be with all the elk tracks. Sorry if i offended any of you.
