I built a couple of traps that are 24x24x60. They have a door on both ends and seem to work pretty good. It does take a while to catch one though. I use a dead squirrel that I hang from the top of the trap, and tie a string from its tail to the trigger.

First,,, I wud uz,,, a few caps and some punctuation if I wanted others to take me seriously.
Second,,, I would check with the local game laws to make sure what I was doing and the bait I was using was legal. For example,, the Squirrel that AR farmer speaks of would get you a big fat fine in my state.
Find out the laws and licences required for your area, and then contact your state trappers association. I'm sure they have lots of guys willing to help you.
And don't be lazy,,,, do a search YOURSELF. Taking legal advice from a complete stranger on the Internet is risky business at best.

anarchy kennels I wish I could fiind it but somewhere on this board is all the info you need
there was some amazing posts on this very subject, and if you could find them here it will be everything you ever wanted to know about live trapping bobcats
washington outlawed leg hold traps for bobcat if i am not mistaken
those boys have come up with some very effective ways of long line live trapping bobcats they designed traps that could collapse so a truck load would be quite a number of traps
they use "flags" of various kinds in a high and visible spot near the trap
they will put a call lure in a high location also (available from trapping supply houses)
they cover the floor with dirt or something that feels better to the cat than wire
under foot
they cover the trap with brush and stuff so the cat feels protected entering.
seems like they said leave the back to where they can see out, as if they could go through.
inside is a flag also, something that will twist and turn with the slightest breeze.
some guys have a swivel tied in so it will never get hung up or too twisted to keep moving
inside will also be a bait and a close range trapping lure
a lot of guys feel beaver meat is an excellent bobcat bait find a fur buyer in your area for that he will sell you a beaver carcass for cheap
if you dont find those posts on here with a search of this board try a search at trapperman.com
I have never live trapped a bobcat in a cage trap, so I can not speak from experience
but some of these same principle are used in certain leg hold and snare applications
good luck man
let us know how it goes
