Has anyone here ever have a young dog with an IG bactirial infection. I took my 8 wk old pup into the vet becuse she was slugish and had pale slimy stool and they figured it was Coccidia or Eccoli and gave me a wormer and 5 days of antibiotic. That was 24 hrs ago and last night her breathing was realy shallow. I was just wondering if anyone has delt with this before and how long it took to see signs of improvement?

IG what .... there are several antibodies that start with IG...such as IGG, IGA and so on? What exactly are you referring to?

Perhaps it is a "GI" infection you are refering to? You may have just switched the letters around...... This refers to the gastrointestinal tract, ie: stomach, small bowel and large bowel.
Any antibiotic therapy needs to be for the full course of the prescribed dose and length of time as indicated by your vet for greatest effect. Sounds like you're just beginning with day number two.
You really have not provided enough information on the dogs current and past health history and physical presentation / symptoms to allow for any definitive feedback, other than for a reccomendation to trust your instincts [ that all is not well ] and follow up with a phone call to your vet [ at a minimum ] for further instructions.
As can happen with people, there may be more than one illness / complication going on with your dog's health at any given time.
