Most of my bear dogs have a strong shot of lipper for just the reason you say track speed.

KILL THE PLOTTS, SHOOT THE TRIGGS AND GET YOU SOME WALKERS. LIPPER AND YADKIN RIVER CROSSES HAVE MADE SOME OF THE FINEST BIG HOUNDS DOGS AROUND.

I have had two over the yrs that were both great bear dogs. One got killed by a bear when she was around 2 and the other did it all coon, cat, bear and did it all really good. She came from Idaho and was hunted hard back there I got her when she was around 6 or 7 and had her till she passed but hunted till the day she died.

i got my lipper bred dog from jack& tom hopple in east corinth as a puppy also bought a littermate sister that didnt cut it . they also had hardwood dan in there breeding . i was happy with thor, but he wasnt one of those dogs that makes you drop your jaw like my yadkin river dogs are doing.i hunted with thors daddy also he was the same as thor . there traits were loud fast hard headed dogs that lacked that one thing to make them special. brains. there hard headedness overode their brains. jocks

still catch bear with these type hounds.

We used to hunt with a few Lipper Walkers. They had decent speed, decent noses, good grit, extremely hard tree dogs, a little ill at the tree, a lot of heart and drive. We mostly hunted with Yadkin River Walkers which where a little faster and not as growly. I did not like the handle on either line of dogs. They where super hyper and hard to brake, but ran, fought ,and treed hard, and helped catch us a lot of game. Of course, I am not a walker man.

YEAH MOST OF YOUR YADKIN BREED DOGS ARE WIRED LIKE A 220, BUT IT TAKES A CRAZY DOG TO RUN DOWN AND CATCH A BEAR. AS FAR AS WALKER DOGS GO YADKIN DOGS RUN TRACK SUPER, SO MANY OF THE WALKERS ARE BREED FOR COMP. HUNTING ANYMORE AND THEY JUST WANT TO GET TREED QUICK.

thats what ive found two baredown they take out tracks and finish what most hounds cant nowadays and make it look easy. im not saying you couldnt find that in lipper dogs two . the yadkin dogs have proved it to me is all.i have coon hunted these dogs as well you better get ready for a long night if they get on to a coon track that is older cause their going to finish it and take you on a run . you can tree more coons here with the comp type dogs . but for biggame there perfect.

fellas every stock from sackett to nailor fall back to one dog for the most part. thats yadkin river jeff. check out my post my new rig dog and i have traced that pedigree back to where it touches jeff on bout every dog then right on back to wright pistol pete and stans sailor boy. when you go to looking at yadkin river your actually covering half the walker breed. hershberger is the other half. yadkin river is where sackett line comes from and nailor. but nailor is a 50/50 infusion. top side yadkin bottom side lipper whicj hits clint to tom tom to kaw river chief to finly river cheif. i like the infused ones my self i am hunting a female direct off nocturnal skipper and a female direct off of wagers stylish lipper. i like her for her speed and drive and ability to move a track, if you break down her pedigree its an even 50 50 split of yadkin and hershberger.rattler is off jeff lassie is off lipper thats just the top side. bottom side hits wagers stylish lipper back to lipper anna back to harry which goes back to finly river and cowee creek charlie falls back to yadkin river chico. so determining where what attributes comes from where is a crap shoot. much like the whole breed. you may have a name up close but once you break it down its all meshed together. jmo on specifying where the exact traits comes from.

my male is linebred from yadkin river champ twice on top and once on bottom in 4 generations. i just like the way they breed them for certain characteristics . he reproduces those same traits . a guy can steer a breed in any direction he wants for from the wolf man created the dog.jmo

i also agree. just gotta determine where they come from but as i said most of the yadkin comes from jeff such as champ and crowder.
