Nice cat. I agree this snow is a little deep. Had one one thursday that I wore the snowshoes in on and took them off for the hike out. I was faster without the snowshoes than with them. Go Figure.

Nice cat did anybody harvest it or just a catch and release? I don't live to far from Scratch but I don't know what there snow is like where they hunt? But over here the wind has blown so much that its just big hard drifts in the draws and timber and the last week its been about 40 degrees. Wish you could send us some of that snow we need it.

don't you just hate it when you get a dandy in the tree and no matter where you are there is always junk in the way  We had a similar one on last week that just would not cooperate for any decent photos.

Its aggravating sometimes when the only reason your out there is photo and video :(

Good job on the Tom and don't do like me and leave the snow shoes in the truck  We currently have over 3 feet but with the warm temps yesterday its settling and packing finally.

I have hunted Green Mountain alittle bit it's not bad hunting we have gotten a nice tom out of there the last two years in a row. I haven't been over there at all this year just been hunting close to home seems to be plenty of cats over here and i don't have to burn as much 3.00 gallon fuel I can be in good lion country 15 miles from my kennels so it saves alot. Maybe I should tell my hunters to wait for there birthdays? This wind has been so bad this winter, every time it snows the wind blows 40mph it seems like. We had a lion tree in a old dead tree like you were talkin about a couple years ago and nobody could see it and everyone thought that they were false treein then a guy that stayed on top of the canyon radioed and told us he could see it. We ended up tieing the dogs up and takein the shooter up there and shot it from 250 yards cause that was the only place you could see to shoot from.

Went to a new area on Saturday and ran and bayed a cougar in the morning. On the way out we found a track crossing the road so we collared back up and dumped the box and we treed this guy back in a deep drainage. Found the track at Noon and had it up by 3pm.

Nice photos Spanky. Good catch! Did you end up harvesting this cat? When I first looked I thought he had blue eyes. But after closer inspection I don't think so. I have only seen one with blue eyes and that was years ago. Anybody know if the blue eyes is a defect, genes, or what?
