Since its been raining and I'm stuck inside figured I would post a few of my old Falconry pictures from a few years ago when I was hunting with my hawks. The first is a Finnish Gosshawk which belonged to my sponsor. The second is a Red Tail hawk I caught from the wild and trained. Was a lot of fun.

That is awesome! I started to get interested it for a while, but couldn't get a call back from the association and find a sponsor. Reading a lot about it, it definetly seemed like a lot of work! Do you have any more pics of your redtail?

Lots of fun and yes, a lot of work. I was in it a long time ago, back in the 70's.

If you are hunting your hawk it is lots of work busting the rabbits out of the brush. If I had stayed into it I would have got a dog to work the brush. It was a lot of fun but you have to have a sponsor for the first two years. Mine suddenly took a bad turn and started running with a bad crowd so I let it go. Now the state and fed branchs have raised the price of a permit so its getting pretty pricey just for the license.
