i live in utah and average temp in the day have been 20 to 30 and at night 5 to 15 ai have had trapps out for a week no luck ran dogs three time and not seeing track i think i have counte two track and there was two traps set by the tracks. i think we need to have a warm snap and they will move but what do you guys think. i have ran at sun set and sen rise and middle of the night but still nothing in the tree and advice?

i was in oregon few years back and for a month it was 8 to 20 degrees and we just hunted a lot cuse wat i guse is that they have to eat some time and it was a good asumtion cuse one night out of 6 stright we treed 5 in one night

Coons won't hybernat but will 'hole up' when it get really cold. Hunt right after it warms up a little and they should be on the move.

I have been layed off and hunting coons like a fool 3 to 4 times a week. Cause I'm going crazy staying at home watching my 2 girls don't get me wrong. I love them but I like 2 get out and run the dogs when ever I get the chance or when ever the old lady let's me. And I have found out in my country and in my opinion the coldest I will hunt is 15 deg at night, unless it has been 12 deg or colder at night for 3 day straight then on the 4th day if it gets back up to 14 or 15 I will go out the fourth day. And the night after it rains is awsome I don't Know about any where else but if it raining don't even think about going out. Every time I have been out when its even sprinkling don't even try. I am just a rookie though.

I like that night after the night before rains as well... don't like the full moons.
