Just wondering sence the wolves are getting bad. Has anybody used or tried the dog catch vests on them. I figured that 60 dollars a vest might give the dogs a fighting chance.and It might give us some more time to get there and take care of the problem.and save the dog. Just wondering if any body tries it?

Sounds great, except for the fact the dog would heat stroke out before a wolf could ever find it.
In the winter, I think it would hinder a dog's movement too much and slow it down. Here a dog's ability to slip/slide through the brush is vital to any sort of success.
From what I understand, hog doggers only use them on their catch dogs. The bay dogs stop the pig, then they walk in with the catch dog (who's wearing a vest) and send it in on the pig. They usualy only have to run a short ways.
These are just my thoughts, I might be way off. The best way to solve the wolf problem is to thin them down. Hopefully we're closing in on that opportunity with the Feds.

I think it would work great, especially if the vest was filled with strycnine!lol

A new use for culls ?
Seriously though, i fortunately havent had the unpleasant dealings with wolves although run amongst them often, from what I hear they often shake the dog so hard it breaks their neck, the vest wouldnt help that.

I too was just thinking....hmmmm a vest to ward off wolves...I was thinking of an entire herd of no good dogs suited up in vests Fallujah style and of course linked to a cell phone.
Wait until the fight is on and then dial the number....but really no dog deserves that.
Seriously though a vest wouldn't work because the wolves would just eat the ass end out of the dog while he was still alive and then leave him there to die anyway.

I don't have any experience with vests, but a little with wolves....
The wolves first will break the dogs back just in front of the hips. Then they will either crush their throat or break their neck. Atleast that's what hapened to mine. I don't know if a vest would have helped or not, but either way, the dog would have probably never made it too far from the truck with one on because of over heating.

I've got it!!!! lets build a sharksuit for the dogs. they wouldn't overheat and they could just set and laugh while the big bad wolves break all their teeth out. maybe this aint the answer, but with some innovation we could find something that would work. what about finding a scent that wolves can't stand and spray it all over the dogs. I still like the idea of sending all the dead dogs from parvo and distemper out for the wolves to eat.

wolves will not flourish in my neck of the woods if I can help it.

old school mesh armor that covers legs neck butt tail ears and all and just leave the eyes and mouth out then put a flex pipe down spinal area so wolves can not break them. will be heavy yet will also allow air to flow. train ur dogs in them for a year so they can gain muscle to be able to carry it and still move quick that will do it. or just a ton of rhodesian ridgebacks they would get the job done

I think the wolf will just rip the vest in half wipe mouth with one half and arse with other. Maybe we can run the hounds in big hamster balls with vents. Any other ideas boys?

I dont know does it work properly but the idea of using spikes is maybe worth of trying.
Armor doesn't need to be heavy when you put spikes on top of it so then wolves cant get their theeth in.
