24/20 is about as good as it gets but the facts are most 24/20 types these days are pure shit. I'm not quite sure its even possible to find a good dog food anymore. The Black Gold in the blue bag seems to still be OK but aint many others.

I need to add that right now I'm feeding The Pride in the orange bag. It seems OK too but it's a 26/20. I aint backing it though, just sayin what I'm feeding. Well, actually right now I'm blending the 24/20 Black Gold and the 26/20 The Pride cuz the Black Gold is so damn expensive but I did feed The Pride in the orange for a bit by itself and it didnt seem terrible.

Does anybody know where I could get some good feed in bulk at a decent price, thinking along the lines of of a ton or two at a time? The main problem I am sure will be the shipping though living up here at the end of the world....

Larry, you need to find your local wholesale distributor for the type of feed you what to use. You should be able to buy it wholesale and save a bunch. They may need a tax ID number or something to sell it to you but it's worth getting a business name to do it.

I feed a combination of pro plan performance 30/20 mixed with EVO red meat 42/22 my dogs love it and it really makes them look good. Its expensive but I only have four dogs but they look great and I think they have more energy and recover quicker on such good food. My girlfriend always kids me that my dogs eat better than me. But if you think about all the enjoyment and energy they give you every single day feeding them great food is a pretty fair trade off. Just my opinion. Good luck in the woods. Rik

Larry run down and mink farmers in your state. Ask them if they get the "re-grind". We get ours from MN. out here 12.00 for 50lb. and we add stuff- meat, eggs, or milk replacer.

Egg whites are not good for your dog on a regular basis. I think it has something to do with vitamin D and blocking absorbtion of another vitamin. Not sure how that goes anymore but I do remember it is bad news and causes a vitamin definciency.
