i was wondering if plotts are good to use on coyotes i have always liked the plott and thought about getting one to hunt on coyotes. if you have any please let me know. i live in ohio so the closer to here the better. i have just heard that the coon hound breed doesnt have the stamina that the running breeds have.

True for the most part from what I've seen which isnt a hell of allot. Hunted with some in NY that the plotts were used as gun dogs. I think theres a Plott site smith deal or somthing like that. Go on there and ask around some one might throw you a bone if he got an coon dog trashing bad on yotes. Good luck.

there`s a few guys on my home site that run plotts on yotes and do pretty well with them. the ones i`ve seen though i wouldn`t feed, but there hounds like that in all breeds. as for tree hounds not having the stamina to run all day compared to running hounds, once again it`s all in the breeding. i know that i run mine with running hounds alot and mine are always right up front day in and day out.

There are good and bad in every breed. Its personal desire and what you like. In my own personal opinion, the deeper the snow, the fox hounds seem to have a little more. This is the only reason I switched.
