OK so we killed one coyote on Saturday, and it was about 48.5lbs and i skinned it and am going to mount it for practice on my future career as a taxidermist, and i just wanted to know if anyone out there knows what the measurements are for a full body mount on a coyote, because i measured what i thought they were but i'm not sure. If anyone knows the specific measurements please tell me.

Hang on, you've got it backwards. Every hide or cape has to be measured first, then you order the form that fits it. You can do the measurments right when you kill the animal or wait until you get the hide back from the tanner and measure it then, after it is soaked down and stretched back to its original size. You need to order a form that is close to the size of the skin, then alter it to fit the hide. Forms are easy to alter since they are all foam forms these days. Back when I started, forms were paper mache and much more difficult to alter.

Yea i already measured it i just wanted to know if i measured it the right way, i pretty much know how to do all the rest of the stuff to do it, but i didn't know if i did it right. i basically measured it to the instructions for a lifesize in the McKenzie magazine that i have, there were 4 measurments for it but there were only 3 measurments on the forms in it, so i was a little confused. I just looked in the Van Dykes catalog that i have as well and there are 4 measurments on the forms in there.

Nose to eye
Nose to back of skull
Girth around middle of body
Nose to base of tail

These measurments should be done on the carcass, not before it is skinned.
